Cleaning and Sanitation
FAQ – Cleaning and Disinfecting Rotomolded Polyethelyne
There’s a reason we call our furniture Tonik Tough. Tonik engineers furniture to be durable, both in structure and in its ability to withstand heavy-duty cleaning.
Tonik furniture is seamless, nonabsorbent, and water-resistant with no hidden areas for debris to collect. This means that cleaning can be done confidently knowing that Tonik furniture surfaces are clean and disinfected.
How can I keep the Tonik furniture in my facility safe and clean?
Increase the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting, focusing on high-touch surfaces. Increased frequency of cleaning and disinfecting with attention to these areas helps remove bacteria and viruses, including the novel Coronavirus. Clean surfaces and objects that are visibly soiled first. Clean and disinfect surfaces as soon as possible in areas where a person with respiratory symptoms (e.g., coughing, sneezing) was present.
What is the difference between cleaning and disinfecting?
Cleaning refers to the removal of germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces. It does not kill germs, but it does remove them, lowering their numbers and the risk of spreading infection. If the goal is to disinfect a surface, it should be cleaned first.
Disinfecting refers to using chemicals, for example, EPA-registered disinfectants, to kill germs on surfaces. This process does not necessarily clean dirty surfaces or remove germs, but by killing germs on a surface after cleaning, it can further lower the risk of spreading infection.
What precautions should I take when cleaning and disinfecting Tonik Furniture?
Disposable gloves, eye protection, and gowns or aprons are recommended while cleaning and disinfecting. Dispose of gloves after cleaning, and wash hands to prevent the spread of germs.
