IS TONIK® FURNITURE FOR INDOORS? OR OUTDOORS?
Both! It’s been designed to perform in outdoor environments, but also well-suited to provide a unique design element indoors. Tonik® products are GreenGuard® Gold certified by UL Environment.
WHAT MAKES TONIK® HIGH-PERFORMING IN AN OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENT?
Tonik® products are rotationally-molded in commercial-grade polyethylene, which is highly impact resistant, durable and easy to clean. They are also very strong, with all the seating products rated a 500 lbs. static load, or more.
DOES COMMERCIAL-GRADE MEAN IT IS SUITABLE FOR INSTITUTIONAL USE?
Yes, Tonik® products are perfect for high-traffic areas like hotels, schools and corporate environments… as well as residential settings. The commercial-grade polyethylene material is also FDA-approved, making it ideal for restaurants, food courts and entertainment facilities.
WILL THE PRODUCTS FADE IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT?
All polymers will gradually discolor over time, but we use specially formulated ultra-violet light stabilizers to significantly reduce discoloration. These are the same UV inhibitors commonly used in molded outdoor playground furniture.
FOR USE AROUND THE POOL OR NEAR THE BEACH – WILL SALTY AIR OR CHLORINE AFFECT THE PRODUCT?
No, Tonik® products are molded in commercial-grade polyethylene, which is super durable and easy to clean. However, Tonik® products are not recommended for prolonged use IN a pool.
WILL THE COLOR WASH OFF OR PEEL?
No, we use only premium TruColor™ material, which is fully compounded (not mixed) for superior color consistency and UV protection. The color is molded through and through, not topically applied.
DO YOU NEED SPECIAL CLEANERS TO MAINTAIN THE FURNITURE?
No, the molded polyethylene is very easy to clean with mild soap & water, or household cleaners like Simple Green®.
WHAT’S THE BEST CLEANING METHOD?
If used outdoors, wipe down your product after exposure to rain, as part of regular maintenance. Mild soap and water usually does the trick, or a household cleaner like Simple Green®. You can even pressure-wash Tonik® molded products.
ARE TONIK PRODUCTS MADE OF RECYCLED PLASTIC MATERIAL?
No. Tonik® furniture is made of virgin, first-quality prime polyethylene.
ARE THEY RECYCLABLE AFTER THEIR LIFESPAN IS OVER?
Our products are 100% recyclable and have a long lifespan. That means once it’s time for DOTTIE to hang up her dancing shoes, she is 100% safe to be sent to the great recycling center in the sky and be made into another product that will bring boundless joy to countless lives.
TONIK® PRODUCTS CAN BE ILLUMINATED FROM WITHIN?
Most Tonik® products, yes! Optional UL-Approved lighting kits allow the product to “glow” from within, with RGB LED lights. Select Moonglow colored product, which is translucent enough to emit light.

Bikini™ Lounger FAQ
WILL IN-POOL BIKINI™ LOUNGER PRODUCTS FADE?
Tonik® outdoor furniture is UV rated to resist fading. Extra longevity can be achieved by placing Tonik® furniture in shaded areas or moving them indoors when not in use.
HOW DOES THE BIKINI™ LOUNGER STAY IN PLACE ON THE POOL’S LEDGE?
The Bikini™ lounger is designed to be ballasted with pool water. This will require the unit to be filled slightly more than the water the lounger displaces to inhibit floating. The right amount of water will vary depending on the depth. It is recommended the user experiment with varying amounts of ballast to achieve the desired result.
WHY IS THE BIKINI™ LOUNGER FLOATING IN THE WATER?
If the Bikini™ lounger is not secure, there is likely not enough pool water ballast in the unit. Add additional water until the unit is secure.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DRAIN THE WATER FROM THE BIKINI™ LOUNGER?
Pool water in the Bikini™ lounger should be swapped once per season with freshly balanced and chlorinated water.
WHAT DO I DO WITH MY BIKINI™ LOUNGER PRODUCTS IF TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO DROP BELOW FREEZING?
The Bikini™ lounger should be fully drained in the event of freezing temperatures. Storage should be considered if high winds are expected as the unit will not have the additional ballast.
WILL SALTWATER OR CHLORINE DAMAGE THE BIKINI™ LOUNGER?
The Bikini™ lounger is designed to be exposed to both saltwater, and chlorine.
WHAT DOES MY WATER DEPTH NEED TO BE IN ORDER TO USE THE BIKINI™ LOUNGER?
Bikini™ works great in pools with water depth up to 8”
CAN THE BIKINI™ LOUNGER REMAIN IN THE POOL WHEN NOT IN USE?
Yes. Removal is recommended in the case of freezing temperatures.
WILL MOLD GROW INSIDE THE BIKINI™ LOUNGER?
It is recommended that the water used to ballast the Bikini™ Lounger be balanced and chlorinated. This will prevent mold from growing inside the lounger.
